The quality system, administrative system and technical system that govern the operations of a laboratory are together termed as the management system by the ISO ( 2005b, p1). Due to the increasing use of management systems, it is becoming increasingly important to keep in line that analytical laboratories do operate to a quality management system while at the kindred time become capable of demonstrating their technical competency to international standards.
